New collaboration on future landscapes

Our Landscapes will ensure local action in the green transition of the Danish map

Future landscapes will be shaped by the people who live in them.

This is the vision behind "Our Landscapes", a new collaboration between Danish Social Innovation Academy, Reos Partners, System Shift and Human by Nature. Through new collaborations in local areas across Denmark, the partners will create broader, local influence and engagement in the ongoing transformation of Danish landscapes.

"Our Landscapes is a national initiative to ensure that the people living in a given landscape also help shape the direction of its future," says Helene Bie Lilleør, founder of Our Landscapes, strategic advisor and associate partner at Danish Social Innovation Academy.

Strengthening local ownership

The collaboration is part of the Academy's efforts to strengthen collective action in the green transition, including the transformation of our landscapes. The landscapes of the future are shaped today through decisions about land use, climate, nature, settlement and energy. Decisions that hold great potential for positive change, but also the risk of conflict.

"Both in the Green Tripartite and in the other processes, we need to involve and activate the local level to a greater extent. Partly to create ownership and commitment, partly to develop solutions that can be implemented in practice," says Helene Bie Lilleør.

Specifically, the Our Landscapes partners will work with a wide range of local actors to develop future scenarios for local landscapes, identify the actions transformation requires and support local collective agency.

A social transition

The interdisciplinary team is anchored in the Danish Social Innovation Academy and has extensive experience with complex change processes, both in Denmark and internationally.

"The green transition is a social transition," says Clara Dawe, Head of Secretariat at the Academy for Social Innovation. "To succeed, we need to pool our collective resources, knowledge and agency. At the same time, we need to expand our notion of the good society and the good life to one where we also live within planetary boundaries. Last but not least, we must ensure that both the burdens and opportunities of the green transition are fairly distributed."

Who is in Our Landscapes?

We are an interdisciplinary team with many years of experience in creating local and systemic agency - both in Denmark and internationally. We combine competencies in strategic development, network building, process facilitation, regenerative practices and method development.

Jennie Winhall, System Shift - Prototyping solutions, facilitating learning and keeping system and practice levels connected.

Helene Bie Lilleør - Network builder and strategic developer with a focus on scaling up and partnerships.

Anne Weber Carlsen, Human by Nature - Works with regenerative practices, facilitates processes and creates networks close to practice.

Clara Dawe, Danish Social Innovation Academy - Ensures structure, local process management and communication.

Mille Bojer, Reos Partners - Contributes with method development and learning design across stakeholders.

We are looking for partners!

We are looking for local areas, preferably in rural areas, that are facing changes in the landscape and want to create a shared vision for the future. Are you a municipality, organisation, company, foundation or association that wants to test and further develop methods for joint landscape development with us?
