Green transition

The green transition is (also) a social transition that calls for action across sectors and levels of society. In 2025, the Academy dives into the connection between climate, social change and welfare.

WHAT?

The green transition is not just a technological or economic transformation - it is also a social transformation that requires action across sectors and walks of life. Social innovation plays a key role in creating sustainable solutions by opening up experiments, empowering conversations across society and mobilizing broadly to create a sustainable and inclusive society.

WHEN

March 2025

WHY?

In 2024, the Green Tripartite Agreement was adopted, and in 2025, work begins to realize the ambitions that will affect everyone. Recognizing that humans are an actor in a planetary ecosystem is not new, but can we put other species on an equal footing with ourselves? Nature, biodiversity and social innovation are key elements that can drive the green transition forward. We need to rethink our relationship with nature and understand how we can best act to create a more sustainable future.

HOW?

In 2025, we will take an active role in exploring how we can contribute to the green transition. This means exploring potentials and challenges - for example through the Green Triangle - and how we can strengthen collaboration on more wild nature and sustainable solutions. Through cross-cutting collaborations, knowledge sharing and experimental approaches, we will work to broaden the conversation about our shared green future.
